Data is about much more than graphs and numbers.
Data is currency. Data is power. Data tells a story. And like
any form of storytelling,
data is a powerful form of expression that shapes our
understanding of truth. 

So what story does data tell about Black people?
How are technologists, data scientists, activists, and humanists
using data to shape our understanding of the Black experience? 

Black Data Stories is a collection of narratives about the social, political,
economic, and cultural experiences of the Black Diaspora through a data lens.
It’s meant to provoke thought, spark curiosity, and push the boundaries
of what we know to be true.
